Heawood Hall is located just outside Alderley Edge within a private estate. The house is an arts and crafts style property and had a sub-standard kitchen and was in need of modernisation. Paul and Donna commissioned us to create a large open plan kitchen and dining space that could be integrated into the heart of the home as well as a new dining space, lounge, entrance porch and hallway.
We believe that the journey through your home starts at the front door. For Heawood Hall we designed a stunning oak porch which then opened into the light filled hallway. The turned oak handrail and oak treads were introduced to create an impressive staircase and Crittal style doors allowed natural light to flood into the space. We worked closely with our tile supplier to design the stunning tiled floor – a contemporary interpretation of a traditional tiled entrance floor.
The large kitchen is truly impressive with a huge central island over 4 metres long. As part of our standard service we design the principles of the kitchen layout and work with the chosen kitchen supplier to ensure both the functional and aesthetic aspects of the kitchen are carefully thought out.
The fully glazed elevation onto the garden provides a window seat and then bi-fold doors open onto the rear terrace. Two large flat rooflights provide further natural light into this space. The flat roof extension sits discreetly against the existing house, with the articulation and projection of the roof edge allowing for downlighting within. The kitchen floor finish runs seamlessly out onto the terrace creating an even greater sense of space.
Donna and Paul have been thrilled with the results.
